Scott Hill Earns His Place on the Ballot: The People of Dickinson and Saline Counties Signed the Way

SALINA, KS — Scott Hill, Republican incumbent for the Kansas Senate, 24th District, has officially qualified to appear on the August 4th Primary ballot, not by writing a check, but by earning the trust of his neighbors. Hill submitted more than 700 signatures, with validation halting after election officials confirmed 537 valid signers, surpassing the required 2% threshold of registered Republican voters.

Filing by petition is a choice, not a requirement. For Hill, it was a deliberate act of accountability. “It was important to file by petition because it’s a check on the job I did in Topeka,” said Hill. “I will continue to stand firm on the principles that guide me: individual liberty, constitutional responsibility, and an accountable government, of the people, by the people, for the people.”

Filing by petition is uncommon for incumbent state senators and requires candidates to personally earn ballot access through voter signatures rather than a filing fee.

Voters in Dickinson and Saline Counties will have the opportunity to cast their vote for Scott Hill in the August 4th Republican Primary. Hill’s campaign is built on a clear promise: smaller government, smarter schools, and a Statehouse that answers to the people who sent him there.
